Blesta is a powerful billing and customer management platform that is widely used by web hosting companies and other businesses that offer online services. With its intuitive interface and comprehensive features, Blesta can help you streamline your billing and customer management processes, saving you time and resources.
If you are interested in using Blesta to manage your business, here is a step-by-step guide on how to install it on your server:
Step 1: Meet the System Requirements
Before you begin the installation process, it is important to make sure that your server meets the system requirements for Blesta. These include:
- A web server with PHP 7.3 or higher: Blesta requires PHP 7.3 or higher to run. It is recommended to use the latest stable version of PHP to ensure the best performance and security.
- A MySQL or MariaDB database: Blesta stores its data in a MySQL or MariaDB database. It is recommended to use the latest stable version of MySQL or MariaDB for optimal performance and security.
- The cURL PHP extension: The cURL PHP extension is required for Blesta to communicate with external APIs and services. Make sure that the cURL extension is enabled on your server before you install Blesta.
- A minimum of 256MB of RAM: Blesta requires a minimum of 256MB of RAM to run properly. However, if you have a large number of customers or a complex billing system, you may need more RAM to ensure optimal performance.
- A minimum of 10GB of disk space: Blesta requires a minimum of 10GB of disk space to install and run. However, you may need more disk space depending on the size of your business and the number of customers you have.
It is also recommended to use a Linux-based operating system such as CentOS, Debian, or Ubuntu for optimal performance and security when running Blesta.
In addition to these requirements, you will also need to make sure that your server meets the PHP requirements for the Blesta installation. These requirements include the enabled PHP extensions and settings
Step 2: Next, download the latest version of Blesta from the official website (https://www.blesta.com/downloads/). The download package will include all the necessary files for the installation.
Step 3: Create a new database for Blesta on your MySQL or MariaDB server, and make note of the database name, username, and password. You will need these details later in the installation process.
Step 4: Upload the Blesta files to your server using a FTP client or the file manager in your hosting control panel. You can upload the files to any directory on your server, but it is recommended to use a sub-directory or a subdomain to keep the installation separate from other websites or applications on your server.
Step 5: Once the files are uploaded, visit the installation URL in your web browser. The installation URL will be the URL of the directory or subdomain where you uploaded the Blesta files, followed by “/install”. For example, if you uploaded the files to a sub-directory called “blesta” on your website, the installation URL would be “https://www.example.com/blesta/install“.
Step 6: Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. You will need to enter your database details, choose a license key, and set up the administrator account
